Gen1 Speedo wrong

Hey guys. I bought my MR2 with an incorrect speedo reading. Its about 15 under the real speed. Is there anyway to fix this problem? I need a new cluster anyway, would that correct it? Heres what it says at 0 mph...

Sorry for the fuzzy problem. My camera on my phone has been acting up lately.

Do you have aftermarket tires and rims? And how far off is it when you're driving it?

It's got American Racing 15" rims with 195/50R15's. But the larger rims wouldnt put it to -15 mph at a stand still. What did the MR2 come with stock? I know it had those weird, 3 'spoke' rims, but were they 15 or 14's?

I don't know what was the stock rim size. I would guess 14". Have you ever messed with the Speedometer on the dash?

you can take the cluster apart and readjust the speedo needle, but be careful it's delicate.

I have the same problem with mine. I think maybe I bumped it when I was putting in the plate. I was afraid to touch it again. But if you think it can be corrected that way, I'm gonna try.

yeah you can adjust it that way at least get it within a mph or 2, better than being 15 under or over, that would suck for a speeding ticket. Just don't break the needle. Good luck.........
