I can't believe someone would actually try to pass it off as a Lotus. I guess cuz the Lotus Elise comes with a 2zz they thought it was Lotus worthy..It's certainly not worth $25K. More like $8 or $9K -if it's in good running condtition.
I guess this is the one you mentioned in another post.?

Correct, I might have bought it (after some heavy negotiating) and took off the lotus stickers but after asking the guy "Hey can I look at the Lotus?" "Sure.. its open" I just left the lot after that.
Thing is with our market, selling a modified car depreciates the price of what the car would be worth stock. Mainly do to aftermarket items, which might actually be better then stock, have a tenancy to have a shorter life span and if installed incorrectly can damage the car. I certainly didn't get my money's worth selling my modified Evo 8.
Another note of the car, it was a rental. The big sticker on the side pretty much says "Rent Me" and I wasn't about to pay 25k for a MR2 Spyder that was probably abused.
Lotus was working with Toyota on designing a car for them a while back. Not sure what happened with that, I think the deal fell through.
