considering purchasing mr2

hi, i just recently sold my svt focus and am looking for a used mr2. now i found one that seems to be in good condition but its always good to ask for a second opinion right? ok so ill give u the specs he gave me and ill see if i can post a pic of it soon:

1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo, '93 J-spec engine, transmission, c/v joints, ecu and wiring harness w/ 70k miles on them (sent straight over from japan 20k miles ago), brand new alternator, '94 taillights, a/c, cd and tape deck, t-top seals replaced, ApexI intake, ApexI N1 exhaust -Turbonetics T3/T4 hybrid aftermarket turbo w/ external Turbonetics wastegate, Hks blow-off valve -Greddy boost controller and intercooler w/ 8" spal fan

now he is asking for 8k, does it sound like a good investment?

The price sounds nice if the swap was done right and the car is in good shape. I recently bought a donor car that had been a JDM swap car, now I'll tell you a few things I found.
1/3 of the bolts were loose already, most were never tightened by the shop that did the swap. The timing belt hadn't been changed, since most JDM engines are near 40,000 miles, it's only 20,000 till scheduled replaement, I feel it should have been done. Most of the water hoses and vacuum hoses were reused, and hard as aluminum, MR2turbo's get very hot!
There was also some resistor looking jumper on a plug, I don't know yet if this is that mod thing they push on ebay, but he did have the plug wires and irridium plugs from there....

that car looks like its been repainted......u should find out the reason why......or maybe the owner just painted to side mouldings to colour match the car......
