im looking for a stock bov or even a after market bov thats cheep
im not looking for anything good right now i just wanna get the car running
if u know where i can get one or if u have one to fit a 91 for sale let me know

Most new aftermarket BOV's are " less expensive " than a new OEM.
PM MR2Guru. He's parting out and he may have one. I bought a distributor from him and he's been a big help. Tell him I sent you.
Its ether installed incorrectly or the bov itself is messed up. Have him or someone knowledgable about BOV's crack it open and see if all the parts are there. I heard stories of some companies leaving out parts or coming loose in shipment.
Stock MR2 turbos don't have a BOV, they have a BPV. That's "by-pass valve" instead of "blow-off valve". The difference is that in the stock BPV, the air is circulated back into the intake. With a BOV, the air is discharged into the engine bay.
mr2Luke, your friend's car stalled because the engine was expecting the metered air that was blown off to be recirculated into the intake. As a result, the car runs extremely rich for a little bit and that causes the stalling. I assume it happened when putting it in neutral after being in boost?
I'm running a Blitz BOV right now for fun (usually I have the stock BPV on but I got bored and decided to go "pssshhh!" around town for a bit). I don't have any problems with it because I don't shift from boost into neutral.

No, read my post above this. This is an issue with gen2 MR2s because they use AFMs. The MAP-based 3SGTEs don't have this problem.
i looked at the bov's on ebay
they look like they all a diff flange
the flange on my car only has one bolt
and the ones on there look like they have two
On top of what Ghosty stated, some of the BOV's also will cause stalling because they are not completely closed or don't close fast enough at idle or gearing down, so you end up with a huge boost leak.
Good eye. The adapter in the picture is set with the bolt hole so you can't see it. It's got one bolt at the bottom, just like the stock BPV.
One other thing to note... BOVs are not a performance item. The stock Toyota BPV will work better than most aftermarket BOVs. The BPV will not leak at high boost levels, unlike spring-based BOVs. You will gain zero benefit from the BOV and it can make your car run poorer for the reasons listed in this thread.
