I currently now have 2 non-running MR2's that I need to decide about what to do....
1 87 hardtop MR2
1 87 t-top MR2
1 Megasquirt 1 v2.2
1 Megasquirt 1 v3.0
2x relay boards & EDIS stuff
1 ae101 4agze LB (in the t-top car) in great condition
1 ae101 4agze LB (in the hardtopo car) in pieces with a broken rod
1 ct20a remote mounted plus many other turbo parts (in the t-top car)
1 sc12 from an ae101
1 7age with a spun bearing on the engine stand
1 88 mr2 s/c e51 transmission with axles (in the hardtop car)
1 88 ae92 gts C52 transmission with axles (in the t-top car)
so.... both will probably end up being on megasquirt..... I'm thinking I would prefer to have one n/a and the other charged, but not sure if I want turbo or s/c..... I also am not a huge fan of the E51's weight and taller gears..... so, I'm going to guess I'll sell that stuff off locally......
The new car in it's current state:
This car has some strange history, and the original time I owned it I named it Christine based off of the Fury from the movie..... it really does have a mind of it's own.
I obtained the car from the original owners who had replaced the HG on it 2 or 3 times and most of the mileage was from flat-towing it behind an RV. I paid $100 and put a lot of time and money into it. After some time the car wasn't used much and I sold/traded it to an airplane mechanic.... who in turn drove it and changed the tires (all he did)... several months later I offered to purchase it back from him (December of 06). Had the car for 4 or so months and rarely drove it -- maybe had put 50 miles on it since reobtaining it. I traded it to my friend for the family boat they had (20.5' Bayliner Capri with a 4.3 sterndrive). The car then went up on ebay, sold to someone in Chicago.... however, when the car was taken to the shipping company they refused to ship it -- said the engine in the back was too high of a liability. On my friends way back it sold to someone I believe in Standwood or Arlington (literally someone at a gas station saw it and offered my friend money for it). Some time went by then I started to see it on craigslist as coming with arp studs and a new HG -- but it had a blown HG. After some more time went by I got notification from an old friend of mine that he had obtained the car and planned on having it fixed. Turns out it had a thrown rod, not a BHG and we worked a deal to trade for my ae86.
So, now Christine is back... and I need to make some decisions. I could easily pull the ae101 4agze LB from the t-top car and get this one back on the road, but then the t-top car goes backwards in progress a 100 fold..... I would also prefer the hardtop be more of a fun n/a stripped down car with the 7age.... but, it would be much easier and quicker to get the gze LB I have into the hardtop.....
decisions decisions....

Actually the car is very creepy..... I'm not sure what the lustre of it was that drew me back in.... but here are a few examples.....
One day I accidentally went to work early, and decided to go home until I had to be there. No problems with the car. On the way there, the car kicked, bucked, died a couple times, and I finally made it.... that night, it got hit in the parking lot.... drove home no problems at all.
Was dating a girl (way before my wife was in the picture) and had no problems getting to her place in the car.... after she got in the car, it wouldn't start... literally for almost 5 minutes...... again after the movie it had the same problem. After I dropped her off I had no problems.... about a weeklater things ended on a bad note with her.
After I sold it the first time, the new owner was having runability problems... I bought it back and found that the MS had a very very slight problem and easy fix that happened to it and it was running top notch afterwards.
After I traded it.... the guy came and picked it up... made it about a mile from my house and it overheated and somehow got coolant into the trunk, on the MS causing it to cut out. A few hours later (I was on the lake that day) I got in the car and drove it to his house no problems.
These are just a few examples.... and I'm not exaggerating a single one of them..... Also, when I had just this car and the ae92 they would each have slight problems if I worked on one more than the other (for instance if I worked on the MR2 too much and was just driving the ae92 then it would burn it's ignitor out..... or if I was driving the MR2 and working on the ae92 more the MR2 would give me guff).

Let me know if you are going to part out the blue interior lol. There's a few things I have been looking for.
I have a lot of spare blue interior pieces.... especially since both 87's have blue interior and at one point the 3-tone 87 the PO attempted to swap to black interior and I ended up with random pieces....
I'm also pretty sure one of them will be a much more dedicated "track" car and will have little to no interior.....

As much as I would love a 4agte...... having a 4agte and a 4agze isn't my ideal situation.
I'm currently leaning towards the hardto car getting the ae101 4agze longblock from the t-top car and the t-top car getting the 7age (after a peek at the bearings). This would be the easiest and financially smartest choice..... especially considering I have the ae92 with a smallport 4age, the wifes car with a bigport 4age.... and a tercel as a DD..... 2 boosted aw11's might be 1 too many...... I will not be selling any of the turbo parts, so there's always a chance for the hardtop to get turbo'd, but that would have to be after all cars are driveable.......
Thoughts?

awesome if you do decide to go down the stripped interior track car, let me know. I get dibs on a few things LOL
Thats pretty creepy how the car won't work with other people except you. Guess it's really attached to you heh
