1987 mr2 Idle Air control valve

I have a 1987 toyota mr2 with a rough idle at start up I was told by a friend it is the idle air control valve. I was wondering if a 1989 mr2 IAC would fit on my 1987 and does anybody have any pictures of its location and instructions on how to change it. Any help would be great thank you.

what makes you think it's an IAC valve? Is it hard to start (ie take longer than usual)? I would lean towards adjusting your idle or checking your cold start injector/switch first

the car starts fine and then the idle will jump to like 2500rpms and stay like that for a while and as the car gets warmed up the idle starts to fall and becomes erratic (dropping and rising) until the car is fully warmed up and then it will stay at 900rpms.
