hey im having some oil leak problems on my 91 mr2 non turbo, i changed the gasket from valve cover but its still leaking and its coming from the distributor, how too i remove the distributor too replace the old gasket? and would i mess up the timing on it ?
This was pretty much a double post. I deleted the other one.
There ar only 2 bolts holding the distributor down. remove them and the distributor will slide out. Slide off the old O ring and slide on the new one. The distribuotr can only go in one way. The notch on the end is offset to slide only one way into the intake cam.Pretty much dummy proof. But I do recommend that you check your timing after you reinstall the dizzy.
Yes, turn the ditributor until the tick mark on the crankshaft pulley lines up with the correct number on the timing scale, then tighten the bolts and lock it down. I don't know what the timing is for the 5sfe. I can look it up for you when I get home(I'm at work right now) if you need me to.
Yes Please If U Can Because I Was Looking For It Right Now But Was Not Able Too Find The Timing For The 5sfe I Was Going Too Check With My Old Coworker He Used Too Work For Toyota But If U Could Do Me That Favor I Be Greatful
Timing is 10 degrees BTDC @ idle.
You must also find the "diagnose" box on rear wall of engine bay. Using a paper clip, cross connect terminals TE and TE1 . Then adjust timing.
So Let The Enigine Warm Up First Than Im Good Too Fix The Timing Cool..
Alright Than I Too The Te And Te1. I Dont Want It Fucking Up, Do U Know Whats The Normal Rpm The 5fse Engine Should Be After Idling?

yes,but those are pricey. I would just go with a K & N cone type filter with the adapter. You will get better throttle response and a throatier sound. But by itself, you will probably only see 1 - 3 HP increase.
