Importing a JDM MR2, what u guys think?

hmm just realized i cannot post attachments as this is my first post dunno if pictures are gonna work. Anyway...

I currently have a Toyota FJ Cruiser and am looking for a 1994 jdm Mr2 gt/gts(turbo, summer car), found this one on an auction site in japan. anyone know what color that is? its a gts, 80 000kms, hard top, the exhaust has been changed and im waiting to find out if it still has its cats cause i think canadian gov't will prolly give me a headache about it if cats are off.

Body is in near perfect condition except the front lip has been sidewalk scraped pretty badly a few times. no scratches on car and only two tiny dings. vehicle condition grade is 4 , interior grade is C, i have no pictures of engine bay or interior yet.

Anyone have any experience importing a vehicle from japan to canada?

What u all think? buy this or keep waiting? i should be able to get it for like 300 000yen including all fees(4000$ + 1k shipping japan to canada + am waiting on shipping quote from vancouver to MTL but id say like another 1.2k or so) dont mind waiting as its winter now, and color isnt my favorite (tho i may get car for less cause of it and offset the price of a paint job a little. green or light blue isnt my favorite color) thx.

Well from what I've seen, Canada already has pretty much the same exact MR2's. RHD, turbo, etc. Why not get one from Canada where you can see it first and in person before commiting to it?

One thing is for sure... it can't be cheap importing a car overseas. Plus doesnt it have to sit in Customs or anything (maybe that is USA only lol)

Boo, learned that i cannot bring in a 1994 till June this year, so i have to wait to at least april/may before i can purchase one.(plus the month or 2 shipping makes it june) that car went at auction today, sold for 170 000 yen (what a joke 2300$CAD) shipping across the world is 1000$ but got a quote for shipping across canada, 2400$ ouchies, i have to look into shipping it by train maybe, will take 2 weeks maybe instead of 3 days but may be worth it.
