in a first gen.... un-plug all electronics -- starter, alt, afm, power connector (grey) around battery tray, battery (if still there), injectors, cold start injectors, there's a 10mm ground on the intake manifold, distributor, coil, ignitor, coolant sensors (there are 4) the engine bay temp sensor by the exhaust manifold, o2 sensor (which year depends on location), unplug from the ecu (3 plugs) and the relay that's attached, disconnect the main wiring in the trunk (back and at the bottom, has like 25 wires in it), push all of the ecu/relay/main conenctor through the firewall then pull the harness out.

if it's a first gen you'll need some sort of pic as all of the connectors are held in by annoying metal clips

**edit** forgot the trans reverse wiring and the a/c idle up and a/c (if it has a/c) compressor and oil pressure sensor (below the dizzy)
