2004 MR2 Instake Manifold Gasket
Do you really have to remove the engine from a 2004 MR2 1z Motor to replace the Intake Manifold Gasket?
At my Toyota Dealer in Indiana I'm being quoted $980.00 + tax. Private mechanics won't touch it because it says in the book it requires 12.5 hours and you must remove the engine, is this true? Dealer indicated that is was a big job as well!!!!
I read several post from Celica owners that had the same code P0171, talking about a $8-$22 dollar gasket and not much to replace, it was my understanding that we shared the same motor.
I have replaced gaskets in other cars but I can't find my way around this car at all due to the mid engine installation. Thank you in advance.
