No, but the Lotus Elise has a Toyota engine in it (2ZZ). Originally, the MR2 was a joint venture between Toyota and Lotus-hence the mid engine design.

I think all the current Lotus models use Toyota engines (2ZZ on Elise and Exige) except for a GM Ecotec on one of them.

But this conversation should be over. You don't want to swap a Lotus engine into your MR2. Stick with the 3SGTE from CRW, it'll be more powerful.

O no i do have my mind set-up for the 3sgte engine i was just wondering thats why.. my friend he has his own part shop and he used to own a mr2 and it had a lotus engine in it but he didnt know where they got it from he installed a turbo and was doing 245 or 265 to the wheel,
but the idiot sold his mr2 and now owns a shity integra but kept the turbo lol

was type of oil those the power steering use? or what would be great too use? i need to clean my power steering

Was it an MKIII MR2 Spyder?

If so, then it's got a 2ZZ-GE swap. It's a pretty common swap amongst Spyder owners.
