Another quick question

will a 5sfe head gasket and head bolts fit the 3sge head? Buying a motor that has a 5sfe block with a 3sge head

They should fit fine. Just check and make sure that ALL the water passages line up. If they don't, just modify the HG so they do.

5S block + 3SGE head is a nice combo for a NA car.

awesome! been needing to put a motor in my mr2 for almost a year now, and found some guy who's selling me his 3sge head and 5sfe block for 200 together, but first i wanna check it out

So exactly why is the 3s head n 5s block a good combo? I heard the 5s block is good for torque

That's pretty much it. The 5S block is .2 liters bigger than the 3S block so you get more torque.

I checked out the motor a 2 days ago, was in really good shape, picked it up yesterday, and now its here!!!! I also got a set of 3sgte cam shafts for free but I want to sell them since I won't be needing them. I'll post up pics soon of the motor! its a real Frankenstein the valve covers are green

Too bad those extra camshafts are 3SGTE. I could use a set of 3SGE cams so if you come across any for sale cheaply, let me know.

Which transmission would be better for my swap? My stock 5s tranny, or should I upgrade it to a 3sgte transmission? and since I have 3sgte cam shafts will that be better than the 3sge ones?
