Arrow 3sgte problem

i have a 1991 mr2 and im having problems with the rpm's i can only rev it to 5000 rpm's what can be my problem? spark plugs? are they governed? i doubt the fact that its RHD matters right? anyway plz help and thanks in advance...

What happens when you get to 5k RPMs? Does it bounce off 5k like that's where the rev limiter is? Or does it seem like it breaks up and get sluggish up there?

Since it's RHD, I'm guessing it's JDM... Is it running on the JDM ECU? And are you running it on the normal 91 octane pisswater we have in Cali?

BTW, for plugs use NGK copper BK7RE plugs (also known as NGK 6097s). They should only be about $2 each.

Japanese cars are speed governed but the rev limit should be around 7k.

And for the triple crown of posting right after myself instead of editing a previous post:

Are you getting any Check Engine Lights? If so, pull the codes and see what they are. Then pull the ECU-B fuse for a second to reset the ECU after you check the codes.

yeah it bounces back like if it was hitting the limit... thats funny i have ngk's but thanxits all stock jdm stock that is.....
