86000miles.....and not broken in yet??....if u buy into the term "lady driven"....boy do i have some Bre-X stock i'd like to unload onto ya...

theres no common known electrical problem that i can think of with mk2 turbos.....u should be more concerned with the health of the motor and turbo itself...check for any visible signs of oil leaks.....ur best bet is to have a compression test and leak down tests performed by a mechanic u trust....common problems with the 91s are exhaust manifold leaks.....t tops seals leaking.....

I've got a 91MR2turbo I bought for the engine. Things I have found were the harness wire for the stereo amp melts. The alternator wiring setup doesn't look like the 'best' way that could have been handled. If it has power steering the steering pump is electric! Good luck finding one if you need so. Also, the front appears to have run over a curb, this bent the bottom of the radiator just far enough to stop the fans from turning. Thank god a bad battery kept the owner from driving the car and over heating it.
Find out if the timing belt has been changed. I've heard you have to pull the motor to do one, but I haven't checked the labor manual to see for sure.
One more important thing, if it really was a lady driver, did she change the oil regularly?
