mk1 mr2 HELP!

My engine on my mr2 is gone, the engine block is warped....i was given the car and the body work is all totally pristine. Ive tried a dozen mechanics to do the job for me, all give me diff info and its starting to p*** me off

Basically some say yeah its an easy job, then another guy said mine a t-vis and means its not interchangable and needs a special "rare" engine?

ahhhh the frustration, can anyone shed any light for me?

uhm, the MK1 comes with a normal 4AGE, available anywhere. All the ones in the Mr2 comes with TVIS unless its the 1.5l model, which is so rare i believe its only in japan. TVIS doesn't make the engine rare, a 4AGZE is rarer, but not hard to come by...we picked one up for $800 including tranny, and supercharger.
Id take it to a shop that says its an easy job.

why not just get surplus 4AGE (TVIS or the latter versions) and drop it in? might cost more but it makes the job a lot easier.
