timing belt problem...help me pleazzze!

the timing belt on my 3sgte walks into the inside of the motor which causes it to slowly but surely get shaved down so that there is shaving covering the belt tentioner. what could be causing this??? the tentioner is new, all of the rotating mass rotates smooth, and the belt is good and tight in all the right places. whats going on?

Did you remove the #1 idler pulley that is pushed by the tensioner? If so, did you make sure to put the washer back behind the pulley shaft bolt?
Many times when the pulley is removed, the washer will fall and you won't even know it was there, thus never being put back. If it's missing, the belt will walk inwards and get eaten up.

I would check all the pulleys. Especially your oil pump since you said it was leaking. The pulley shaft may be on it's way out and may be the cause of the belt walikng in.
