90 mr2 problems
My friend bought a 1990 mr2 nonturbo, but has run into some problems. The car started and ran for a time until the trans broke on it. We recently replaced the trans and got everything put back together(correctly as far as we can tell). The car had been on fire before, which caused a lot of problems, and may be at the root of this one though im not sure. We tried to start the car, but it refused to turn over. The starter is wired correctly and will try to engage, but wont cause the car to start. We tried to pull/push start the car with the only effect being that the starter began to click rapidly and would not stop until the battery was disconnected.
Does anyone have an idea of what might be wrong? We suspect that the clutch and flywheel may be pinched somehow, but are not sure. Could anyone with a wiring diagram of the whole car and one of the area around the starter post a copy?
