door locks

ok, my car is a jdm 1992 mr2 turbo. problem is, whenever i try to lock the passenger side door, it sometimes locks...its an off and on kind of deal. i was just wondering how i can pull out the mechanism, 'cause i suspect its a dirty contact? possibly? im locking it from the drivers side panel.

You might try checking the wiring loom from the doors to the body. These are known to trap water and, over time, corrode the wires. This can manifest itself in several strange and infuriating ways. My pass side window stopped working from the driver's switch, then the pass side window switch woud LOCK the driver's door.

Not saying that's what is causing your situation, but it's definately something to consider.
