MK2 3SGE Swap Questions

Well I am thinking about doin a 3SGE swap(non-BEAMS, something like a 2nd GEN) into my 1991 MR2. What all would i need? Would I need the 3SGE ecu and engine harness? Will my 5SFE header bolt up to it? Will the 5SFE 5spd tranny bolt up? What about axles? etc...

I might just drop another 5SFE in with lower miles but just want to keep the 3SGE as an option.

LMK, I'm still a noob to the MR2 game.
Thanks!

ok so i have found out that everything drops in for a 2nd gen 3sge swap, which is what I'm looking for. Header and axles will work with the 2nd gen 3sge. But the ONLY questions I have left are, can i use my 5sfe harness and ecu? Or do i need to get a 2 gen harness and ECU?

This was great information - happen to know where I can source the parts you listed...like an engine harness for the 3s-ge?

so did you do the 3SGE engine swap??? I am in the same boat as you, I want to get more HP out a N/A engine without having to change to a turbo engine.
I am not looking for 300+HP out of a N/A engine, I think I will be happy with the 197hp out of the 3SGE engine. I was even thinking about modifying the 5SFE engine, but I think that will cost more than jsut doing a swap with the 3SGE engine.
