HELP! I've been looking and looking for an ashtray that isn't broken. I'm just not having any luck. My interior is black. Any leads? It looks like these things broke very easily, and I can see why...Anyone know of a reproduction version or a 87-89 black interior part out with a non-broke hinging?

Colors can be changed. I've fixed them with titanium putty, thin copper plate and small screws if you can do that sort of thing. Try Champion Toyota in Houston. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...87&catalogid=1

so the repair you made on the ashtray was for the side mount ashtray or the front by the radio ashtray..

I was refering to the side mounted type. If you think about it long enough and use your imagination. Anything can be reformed.

Yes it can, if it exists. They dont pop up much...

With some patience almost anything pops up on eBay sooner or later. I just a purchased a set of radio brackets from the UK for a reasonable price on eBay.

And I have bought from kbox engineering before. They have some handy repair kits, but it's not cheap. I bought an Oil Filter Housing Seal Kit for $10 that basically consisted of 2 o-rings. And they sell caliper repair kits for double what Toyota sells them for. But if you want a nice new black ashtray by next week then kbox can deliver.
