Does the 2nd gen 3sgte MR2 use a wideband or narrowband O2 sensor?

Narrowband, no on both counts. Wideband are worth having and hopefully it's accurate or you could have problems.

I've built a DIY kit for reading a regular Bosch wideband sensor. I haven't tested it yet but I'll try putting it in the downpipe soon. More info is at http://14point7.com -- I haven't checked on updates for a while.

If you're going to try any type of tuning, a wideband is a worthy investment.

Does your downpipe have an extra bung for another O2 sensor?

Yes,it's an ATS Racing 3" DP with 2 more bungs other than O2 bung.
