Post need your advice...

i saw a clean title white 1991 mr2 n/a with ~160k on it for 2500... do you think its a good deal and what should i look for if i do plan on getting it? i was reading a site about mr2 and they said that the n/a are pretty reliable and they can usuallly last till 200k before rebuilding.. what do you think? how do you know when you need to rebuild?

what r u goals for the car??...the NA is very underpowered and u'll find as with most NA owners that u wont have the "balls" to back up a fast looking car....alot of them eventually look towards doing the turbo swap....

if the car still runs fine..u won't need to rebuild....have a mechanic do a leakdown and compression tests to determine health of the motor.....

well...if u avg it out.....160k over 13 yrs....is around 12k a yr...most ppls on avg....do around 20-30k on cars....it seems like a good deal....how is the body condition??...the interior??...keep in mind also that the car is over a decade old...if not taken care of, u'll have many components that will be need replaced due to general wear and tear.....i've been lucky with my car....second owner....first one was a mechanic that took care of the car...now i have it..n i baby her just as much...no major problems with her yet aside from regular maintenance issues (timing belt change..a/c charge).....

if you really have your heart set on getting an mr2 don't do it when you are in college. I currently drive a 99 altima as my daily driver and will be picking up an mkII turbo sometime later this year to work on and build up. I personally don't like doing anything halfassed but imo you'd be better off getting a more economical/practical car for the long run and once you have the financial backing go all out and get your mr2 *turbo. Just make sure you don't waste your money on whatever daily driver that is so that money can be better used on your mr2!
