Hey Ben, what is it about the Greddy E-Management that is inadequet?Just curious
I was gonna go with the ATS ROM tune since I'm just running a CT27. But I think there are limits on that type of tune, but more than adequet for my set up.
the problem with a piggyback system like Emanage is you arent actually tuning the stock ECU you are "tricking" it into thinking its getting different readings. This type of setup will work on alit of cars fine. But on the mr2 it creates more problems then it fixes
As for your setup, the CT27 and a ROM tune are perfectly matched. If I was keeping my CT27, that's what I would be looking at. Once you upgrade the injectors, you need to start looking for a complete standalone engine management system.

Actually, my future and FINAL plans for the engine were to add:
264 cams-in and ex( or maybe 258 as per TheEngineer's suggestion awhile back)
Adjustable cam gears
walbro fuel pump
550 injectors(Supra)
ATS bored fuel rail
ATS FPR
170 degree thermostat
According to ATS, they can tune the ECU for this .
What are you guys thoughts on this?
Oh, and I really am gonna stop with the engine after this..
I'm sure ATS can match the CT27 and 550s pretty well since they developed both the turbo and the ROM tune. I'm not sure if there's much benefit to the 550s because stock 440s should be fine for anything that a CT27 can put down.
I'm planning on going 850s with E85 which should be able to support a little over 450whp. I doubt I'll be quite that high with the turbo I'm using, though.
^^mileage isnt really dependant on the size of the injectors but the tune your applying to them. But yea those are pretty big injectors. But when it comes to injectors its better to be oversized and run a lower duty cylce than be undersized and run high

One thing is that E85 contains less potential power than gasoline so I have to inject about 30% more fuel to get the same power levels. My duty cycle will be just a little higher than if I were running 550s (the 850s on ethanol are approximately equivalent to using 600s with gasoline). That's balanced out by the facts that E85 is cheaper and has a really high effective octane rating so I'll be able to turn the boost up as though it was race gas.
Side note: a very affordable option for a higher-HP fuel setup is using the fuel rail from a 5SFE which allows you to drop in top-feed injectors which are much more common than the side-feeds that the 3SGTE uses from the factory. The 5SFE fuel rail is massive and has at least twice the flow of the 3SGTE one.
As for the mileage, I'll be getting worse mileage (injecting 30% more fuel at any given time) but saving money because ethanol is cheap compared to gasoline. I've got a couple local stations with it on the pump.
