Can A 6'4" String Bean Live With An SW22 T-Top?

Hey there. I'm thinking of buying an SW22 T-Top, but am worried about headroom with the T-Tops on. I searched the forums and only found one reference from someone who is 6'1" who was happy, but I've got 3" on him. The inventory in my area is pretty darn slim, so I'd hate to drive a distance only to look like a sardine. Any tall owners out there care to give a little advice? Thanks!

I'm 6'1" and I have to make sure my seat is leaned back a little bit or my head will hit the T-Top glass if I drive over a big dip. For someone your height, I'd make sure you ride in one for a bit before committing. Where in Cali are you?

Thanks for the offer. I actually ran into one today. And the answer is: no I do not fit. :-( I will have to try my luck with a hardtop.

The trick is not to sit straight up. You kind of have to sit like a Formula 1 driver, with your ass forward in the seat and shoulders resting on the seat back below the headrest. This pushes your legs up, but I'm sure you can manage.

I'm 6'3" and fit fine in both a t-top and sunroof MR2.

And if Jeremy Clarkson's 6'4" fat ass can fit in a Lotus Elise, I'm sure you can wiggle yourself into an MR2.

Is the headroom any better in the sunroof configuration?

Also, any experience out there with 3rd party seats, like Sparco, etc... do they tend to sit lower?

I didn't feel a difference, but I usually removed the t-tops and sunroof whenever I had the chance, so it would feel less cramped.
