exhaust leak

I got my engine put in and I have noticed that when I stop, I see smoke coming out of the bottom of the car, when I look under I see where it comes out. It's lined up right unfront of the back tires, like even with them and its kind of a thread looking hole, like i see 3 peice hang down from where it comes out about 1". I think its the converter, but just seeing if anyone else has any ideas.
