Blacktop coming together...

Looks like the blacktop is coming together nicely! I have the silvertop ready to pull out and the blacktop has the spec stage 2 clutch and Fidanza lightweight flywheel... I'm going for the install a week from today, so we'll see how it goes!

With a little help I got the blacktop in this weekend. The power compared to teh silvertop is amazing. The lightweight flywheel makes the thing revv crazy... it just wants to keep going. Another difference is the tranny. 3rd gear is awesome! Normally the difference between 1st adn 2nd is smaller than the difference between 2nd and 3rd. Not so with the blacktop 5 speed. The difference is about the same as 1st to 2nd. When you the 3rd, the car pulls just like it does in 2nd... like a raped ape! I love it so far! I'm still breaking in the clutch, but it's great.

Hey , your swap came out really clean . I have a couple of question about the 20v BlackTop installation . I wasn't able to fit the stock intake ,did you beat the firewall in to install it ? Also what radiator hose were used , if you don't mind me asking & did you have to tap any of your vacum lines ?
Well , on my set up I'm using my stock trans & I'm not able to shift hard at high RPM's , is this due to more HP that the trans can't hold ?
Kind Regards
Pablo .

I'd recommend getting a c56 tranny. There's a simple way to drill the gear selector so it comes out the front and use the stock c52 seal. It's a pain having that power and not being able to use it all, I'm sure! It's either the tranny or the clutch limiting you being able to use that power. What clutch are you using? Stock blacktop?

The vacuum lines and radiator lines were from side2sideracing.com. They have a full kit for it (a selection of colors too) and they make the job so easy. It uses the stock filler neck, and 1 of the stock lines from the firewall, the rest is a nice silicone.

For the intake we took a dremel and cut off a corner of the hood latch. no more modification than that was needed. It's a REAL close fit, but if you work at it, it'll fit in there just fine.
