91 MR2 Turbo removed

Hey guys,
a guy is willing to trade me a 91 mr2 for my 96 celica gt. i would be glad to do this trade, but the only thing is that the turbo and intercooler were removed from the car by a previous owner, and an obx header was installed. if i can find a turbo, it should pretty much just bolt on and connect right? and where in the world can i find one? and one last thing, if they can be found, how much is this going to cost me to piece back together? thanks a lot guys

Maybe someone else can answer better, but turbos for your car might be around 1k? + labor..

Is the car running now? Why was the turbo removed?
You will need a CT26, CT20, CT20B or a CT27 if you want to just bolt up. You will also need the exhaust mainifold, down pipe,Oil lines, water lines, IC pipes, couplers, clamps, IC fan, and the Intercooler itself. Make sure that you have a BPV or BOV.
Are you sure it was a turbo model?
I can't see just removing the turbo from the 3sgte and just running it without modification.
You might wanna make sure if it has a 3sgte or the 5sfe engine.

^^all very good points. Also most of this stuff you can buy from member on mr2oc. there are always people parting out their cars or selling these parts because they upgraded. But knowing that is what is removed i would probably just replace them with a CT26 and a Greddy type sidemount.

The only thing i dont understand is he says an OBX header was installed. That is for non turbo cars. So i would be leary that its even a 3sgte. So if you could give us a pic of the engine bay, that would help. But there is a big difference in the engine bays

3SGTE

5SFE

And of course the first tell tail sign is the engine lid. If the vents are totally flush with the lid then its a 5sfe
