p/s

hi today my car was working perfect i took a 1 hour lunch went back to my car after my lunch drove it back to work but atg the time my p/s light camne on and my steering got stiff i have fluid in the resevoir does anyone know what could be the problem and how can i check if the power steering pump went bad

I have that same problem as well. I just drove my car fine and then, the next day the p/s light came on and became stiff. Why is that?

The contact on the relay probably became stuck. Shut the car off and then cycle the key from Off to Accessory and back several times (20+ just to be on the safe side). Make sure you're not trying to start the car, but turn the key to the point just before it would start. This will often free up the relay and make the PS start working again.
