Car pedal covers - need advice

Hello all,

I just got my 1991 MR2 turbo back from my dealer, only to find that the clutch pedal cover was broken and came off. I guess it was wear and tear and whoever sat in it last did the damage. So I need to buy a set of new pedal covers, however, I have never looked into doing this and I was wondering if pedal covers have a universal fit. Also, when I googled for car pedal covers, they are priced pretty cheap and come in plastic, aluminum, and metal.

What type should I buy and are there fitting issues that I need to be aware of?

Thank you for your help!

PS - Just got my Revision 6 Hella lights installed into my Turbo. They look amazing, however, I have to go back to the dealer because my fog lights are disconnected To top it off, my driver side blinker is also disconnected...Looks like they forgot to connect some things before they put it together...so looking to end this nightmare tomorrow.

The rubber type ones that slip over the pedals are OK. But most of the fancy looking ones I've seen are strapped on. I don't trust that type set up not to slip off. Just my opinion

Thanks for the post.

I'm actually going to try a junk yard tomorrow to see if I can get one there. If not then I guess I'll have to buy a set of 3.

I'll post back to let you guys know the result.

Hopefully I can get that and the lights squared away.

Just get the OEM plastic slip on ones from Toyota dealership. They are pretty cheap.

Stay away from the aftermarket strap on fancy looking ones. They are crap because they are too big and slippery.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to go ahead and buy the OEM rubber part this upcoming Monday from the dealer.

As for the lights, everything is in perfect working order!

Again, thank you all for your input.

Thread done...until the next one

Hold up!

Impreza WRX pedal covers fit with no modification for both brake and clutch. They are aluminum with rubber nubs and are very nice. I've got a set on my MR2 Turbo and love 'em. You can easily mod the gas pedal as well but it's not quite as easy.

Examples (from a Subaru):

They really do fit just like OEM. If anyone's interested, I can direct you to the details on modding the gas pedal as well.

After looking at that again, I'm going to do the gas pedal soon (I only did the slip-on brake and clutch pedals before) and see what will work for the dead pedal. Might have to custom-make that one.
