2nd Generation Boost creeping

hey whats up guys?

Its been awhile since ive been here. Well heres th deal, i just got my mr2 back on the road. I just put a new starter, cap, rotor, and plugs in last weekend. While I was driving to my girlfriends house on the the highway i down shifted to 4th gear to pass and i noticed that my boost level passed my set psi on my Apexi AVC-R. At 4800rpm it boosted to 1.15bar and it was set to .80 bar. Its been so long since ive meesed around with the boost controller and ive forgot how to use it lol. If its overboosting do you increase or decrease the duty cycle? If anyone is using this same controller your input would be greatly apprciated.

Thanks for your time.

If you haven't made any changes on your AVC-R, I think I would be looking for the cause of the excess boost. I would check the vacuum/pressure lines of the wastegate actuator .
I would also check the lines to the BPV or BOV. Which ever you're using.

I'm not familiar with the Apexi AVC-R, but I would guess there's some type boost sensing/actuator unit in the engine bay between the turbo pressure line and the wastegate actuator. I would check those lines. Maybe during the starter install they were accidentally disconnected or damaged.

Wouldn't hurt to make sure the O2 sensor has not vibrated loose or the gasket hasn't failed. A leak there could cause boost spikes also.
