upgrading a mr2 nonturbo to turbo

i wanna get a 91-95 mr2 soon but i am not sure if i should get mr2 turbo or non turbo. regardless, it is going to be 5 spd manual definitely. i have been hearing problems about old cars with turbo in them. they are more expensive to repair and the turbo puts a lot more stress on the engine, making it break down faster. just curious, how well do stock mr2 turbos perform with 130k+ miles on them? also, how well do mr2 non-turbos do with after market turbos? how well does it handle the pressure? i was not very sure because i dont think the engine was bulit for it.
thanks for looking

mkII turbo last just as long as the NA models. if you want turbo just buy turbo straight off... NA models engines (5sfe) does not handle too well, internals are not built for turbo.

if you want a fast car, DONT buy the non turbo. and dont think about converting it later on because you will spend a TON of money converting it. i would say the na mr2 is like a miata, they are fun to toss around and very agile but lack the balls of the 3sgte.
