the going rate for a high quality surface paint job of the same color will run about 3 grand. if you strip it and prep it yourself, look for about 1500-2000. If you do all the prep yourself, and take it to a shop just to have the color and clear put on then you cut and buff it yourself, it can get as cheap as 800, but keep in mind the supply price to paint a car is between 300 and 500. if you want to do a complete color change, where the door jambs, engine bay, trunk, etc are painted, the car will have to be basically disassembeled, and then you can look forward to paying upwards of 6 grand for a great paint job. Custom paint just goes up from there. hope that helps.
