hi,i'm new to the forum,i was wondering if you could help with some questions i have about the 4agze to 4agte swap(i have a manifold),
1.Will the mr2 4agze block handle big boost?,or do i need to swap to a series 2 levin/trueno block?
2.Is a lsd essential on this type of application?
3.What sort of intercooler and position is effective on a mk1 mr2?As alot of my friends suffer from heat soak quite badly?
4.What sort of turbo is a balance between power and lag?
5.Has anyone had experience with motec cpu's?,or could recommend one?
Any help?or experience or tips on this conversion to a mk1 mr2 much appreciated, cheers ryan

The 4A-GZE block will handle more boost than the internals will. I belive that the stock 4A-GZE internals will handle up to 300 hundred horsepower. However the 4A-GZE fuel injection system becomes marginal around 12psi of boost. I think a Garret T-25 turbo from a second gen talon/eclipse would be an excellent choice for a good power band. If you are low on cash you could try using a turbo from some of these cars: 84-88 200SX turbo, 84-86 Sunbird GT turbo, Isuzu Implulse, Geo Storm. These motors are all SOHC 1.8L motors. The exhaust flow from the 4A-GZE should spool up their turbos quickly, but not so quickly as to cause exhaust back up at high revs. This would give you an excellent street engine.
