AFM need to be level???

my 91t is having hesitation problems and someone told me that the AFM needs to be sitting level or parallel to the ground. well, when i bought the car, it didn't have that brace that holds up the AFM to the frame. The filter is just resting on the frame. Could this be causing my problem?

It doesn't need to be level, but it also doesn't need to be physically vibrating on the frame. It could damage it's internal components.

If the AFM isn't level, gravity will work on the flap. Depending on how it is oriented, this could cause an issue. It shouldn't be a major problem, but keeping it level is definitely the best idea.

I doubt that's causing your problem, though.

I would check all ignition components, timing and vacuum lines and see if that illiminates your hesitation problem.
