5S-FE more power?

Hey everyone i'm a little new to the mr2 scene . Was my brothers car, bought it off of him. Well its a 91 N/A which is a 5S-FE i believe. Was wondering.. lets say i slap a turbo on this motor could it produce more power than the 3s-gte? being basically the same or similar type of turbo. I'm thinking probably not but this motor is a 2.2 and the other is a 2.0 as you all already know. But even so would it be recommended to change anything else on the motor if attempting this, or simply will i just blow it up...

The current mods on it now are headers i believe to be 3 inch custom cold air intake, fly wheel and clutch.

Sorry if this is a common question just dont seem to see it anywhere maybe because its an obvious answer to most

thanks in advance.

Justin

Yes, this subject has been covered a 1000 times. A search will reveal alot of info.

The 5sfe has an iron block like the 3sgte, but the head is an " economy" head. Not a good candidate for turbocharging.
The 3sgte head is a direct bolt on, but the 5sfe block does not have the supporting water jacket ports to supply the head with coolant.
Some guys have built strokers usung the 5sfe and the result is an HP beast. Major engine management is required.
It can be an awsome motor if you have the money , time and skills(if you do it yourself) to build one.
ATS Racing sells a fully assembled stroker-5sgte
