1. Have you adjusted the idle speed screw? It's located under a rubber cap, if the cap is still there, on the throttle body. (It's a throttle plate bypass adjustment.) This adjustment should be made by first shorting together the E1 and TE1 terminals in the Diagnostic Connector, then setting idle on a warm motor to 800 RPM.
2. If you have messed with the Idle Speed Control (ISC) valve or it's connector, you might have caused a problem there.
3. If you washed out the throttle body with an aerosal cleaner, you could have had the gunk flow down into the ISC and clog up the bearings or washed the lube out of them.
4. The A/C "idle up" VSV connects to the bottom of the throttle body. If you cracked the hose and have an air leak, it will raise the idle.
A warm engine will usually "bounce" the idle speed if it's set a lot higher than 800. The ISC isn't doing it's job correctly, so the ECU starts pulling timing and fuel to get it back down to 800 RPM.
5. Your throttle cable might be set too tight.
