Driver door doesn't close properly

Hi again guys
Now that I have the mould problem fixed I'm looking at the reason behind it.
Ever since I got it I've noticed that my diver side door doesn't close properly. I for some reason never took any real notice of it until now.
What's happening is I close the door and it does a sort of jump just before it closes. Not the best explanation I know but when it closes it doesn't sit in the exact same position as the passenger side.
Has anyone else had/having this problem? Would you know if all i have to do is play with how the door sits. I read you can adjust vertical and horizontal.

Your door is not aligned properly to the frame. This can be caused by someone who took the door off the car and didnt take the time to put it back on properly. Its rare that the door sags enough to cause what you are describing.

What to do:

1) Open your door fully, look from the outdide of the car towards the front of the door, between the door and the fender you will notice the large door hinges. You will need access to these.

2) The best way to access the hinges is unfortunately to remove the fender. Once you have the fender off you will have an easier time with the door alignment.

3) Open the door just enough so you can get a small floor jack under the end of the door. make sure the jack is under the door but not pushing up on it. just so the door is lightly resting on the jack. Use a cloth or block of wood so you dont damage the door.

4) Loosen all 4 bolts on the two hinges equally so they are loose enough so that the door can be adjusted.

5) Jack the door up by a tiny amount, then re-tighten the bolts. remove jack and test door for contact issues. If contact issues still exist then repeat above process.

Sometimes the door can be too high or low, so before you start make sure you look at the top body line of the door (where window frame is) and make sure to note how it is lined up with the top body line of the rest of the car (especially around the back end of the door.)

Mine does that because the hinges are worn out, after all they are 21 years old! I have new hinges that I just painted & I'm putting on this Saturday.
