Until June 1st this year car insurance was not mandatory, but now that it is all the insurance rates in the state got higher. For example, my motorcycle was $29.34/month to insure full coverage when I had one unreasonable/imprudent speed ticket; a couple weeks ago my policy renewal came up, and the ticket was gone and in addition the ticket not being held against me I now get a "Safe Driver" discount, and my insurance in noe $33.87/month

. Ever since I got my drivers liscense when I was 16 I have never had a lapse in coverage or just not insured a car that was a daily driver.
When I first bought my Mr2 almost 6 years ago, I daily drove it for that summer, it was $185/mo for insurance. After that summer I put the car in storage for winter and removed the insurance because I didn't drive it and I couldn't afford to insure it...since then I've had 1-2 additional cars that I daily drive and always insure. To put it into perspective how much I drive my mr2, since I bought it almost 6 years ago, I have daily driven the car for one summer and I have put just over 3k miles on it...And thinking of it, I can't remember the last time I drove the car. And I am one of the most conscious drivers I know, I always know where other cars are around me and am more worried about the next guy them myself; and if I decide I want to drive 'stupid' as I call it, I go to country roads where no one is around and the only one I can hurt is myself, and the retarded deer that would run out in front of me
