87 mr2

Hello i'm planning to buy a 87 Mr2 with only 87,xxx miles (seems fishy already) for only $1700. I'm guessing is has a 4age that puts out 112hp (is this right? because the ae92 4age puts out 130hp) any things i should look for on this car it would be the first car i get and really don't wanna make a mistake because i'm taking this out of my savings thx in advance

That is very low mileage. A compression check would reveal much about the engines health . A test drive and just check the car out like any other car.
With all the salt air in Hawaii, rust is probably going to be an issue.

So i check out the MR2 today engine feels liek it's running only 1 cly lol said it's been sitting for a few years bleh idk what this one but i might get it for $1k

if you have the skill to turn a wrench, it's easy to swap in another 4age. it's a simple engine...
