head lift w/ ARP head studs

My motor is knocking pretty bad and I believe it might be the ARP head studs at fault. I have read a few posts about this but I was wondering how common it is. I just rebuild my motor maybe 200 miles ago and I was told that I need to retorque the nuts.

I already pulled the oil pan off and checked the main bearings and rod bearings and none were spun.

I'm using ARP's and I retorqued them after 1K miles.
Sometimes the stud doesn't seat all the way into the block.Just make sure you do it in the correct sequence .
I did 50ft/lbs , then 60 ft/lbs.
A couple of them turned a 1/4 turn before hitting 60..

Did you use the ARP thread lube when you torqued them?

Sure did, but this is my first rebuild EVER...I'll be pulling off the valve cover the next chance I get.

Ive used ARP studs on many cars and none have had issues. If its a fresh rebuild, have you been breaking it in properly? Have you kept it under 3,000 RPM?

How much did you torque the nuts?

What kind of torque wrench did you use?
