Hey everyone! Its getting to be that time of the year again for another "2 the Beach" event! :thumbup 8th Annual!! Please remember that this is a FREE event, as in there are no registration fees and it is just plain awesome.
This year will be the same as always, just how everybody loves it. Scenic beach views, fancy resort, beautiful drive and a downright fun time on the beach with a bonfire, loved ones and friends. We get to check out newly remodeled Ocean Shores! There should be no more construction in our way this year.
I am pleased to announce that we have booked this years event back at the Quinault Beach Resort And Casino
They are welcoming us this year once again with a generous discounted rate!
"2 the Beach" apparel and goodies will be available for pre order once the design is finished for this years swag.

**RESERVATIONS ARE NOW OPEN**
Please call the Quinault Beach resort and book your rooms today! The sooner you call in your reservation, the better the view will be from your room! They are offering two room rate options which are awesome deals.
$99 For Ocean View
$89 For non-Ocean View "wetland View"
This is a really cool hotel with tons of things to do, from a casino downstairs, restaurants, bars and cafes.
When you call to make your reservation, make sure you tell them that you are with the "MR2 Northwest Group" to take advantage of the group rate.

You Must Reserve you spot before September 8th, 20010. If reservation is made after that date you are on your own luck to finding availability and will not recieve the group rate!

Once again we will have our designated parking area with security surveilance.

Friday September 17th:
4pm - ? Check in at the Quinault Beach Resort. This year we will have an actual Valet parking area.
This area is monitored by surveillance cameras 24 hours. Make sure to pick up your registration packet at the front desk, when you check in. This has important information such as maps for the drive, an itinerary and placard for your car for the "Show N Shine." informational only so you guys can list modifications performed etc...for the audience. just showing off your beautiful 2.

• 8pm - ? Huge Bonfire on the beach behind the hotel. Meet and greet, get to know each other, talk cars, etc. BYOB

BYOB 21 and older of course. I claim no liability for minors and expect they will obey standard state and federal laws.

Saturday September 18th:

• 10am - 1pm Show and Shine in downtown Ocean Shores at the Convention Center. (about 1 mile from hotel) It is right in the heart of Ocean Shores, so a lot of people are going to be coming down to check out our cars!

• 1pm - 4pm Scenic & Spirited drive to Lake Quinault Rain Forest Those of you who were here last year will certainly remember the "Moclips Hwy" :thumbup

• 4pm - 5pm Dinner (Lucky Dragon Chinese Restaurant) approx $8 buffet..Vegetarian requests please let me know via e-mail ahead of time.

• 5pm - 8pm On your own time. Explore Ocean Shores, take a nap, take a swim at the hotel, whatever you want to do!

• 8pm - The weee early morning Another Bonfire on the beach!

Sunday September 19th:

• 9am Breakfast at Emily's Restaurant located inside the hotel. They have an AWESOME breakfast, with a great big menu!
  This gives us an easy chance to eat breakfast say goodbye, pack our things and make up great convoys for the way home, without having to locate everyone throughout ocean shores.

• Thank you all for coming! Have a safe trip home! Hope to see you again next year for "2 the Beach 2011"!! :thumbup

Good things to bring if you have them:

• 2-way Radios with subchannels, we will use ch. 2.2

• Folding Chairs (for beach and show & shine)

• Warm Clothes (It can get cold at night)

• A spouse (this is one of the events that they will enjoy! Shopping areas, scenic drive and the beach with their Love etc.)

I'm planning on being there in my 89 white SC for the Saturday meet & drive. I live close enough that I'll drive up that morning & head back home after dinner. I'll be the only one as my wife will be out of town.

I'll be sure to make it there with my mr2, bout a 25 min. drive for me to get there! It'll be my first year to attend.


Hwy. 101 has been reduced to one lane each direction between Aberdeen and Hoqium due to piling deterioration of the Simpson Ave. Bridge. It's inconvienent but delays havent been to long. Just wanted to throw a heads up out there for all of you attending so you can plan around it.

Reminder..... all hotel reservations must be reserved by september 10th. that is 3 days away!

Drivers, please remember to pick up your registration packet from the front desk when you check in to the hotel. If they do not give you one, ask for it, they will have them.
Remember check in is 4 p.m. If you're lucky they may let you in earlier.
Weather is still looking kinda sketchy but appears that sat and sun may only be periods of rain etc..
