Reason: rearranged pics for easier viewing/reading
Nice! What did you coat the intake manifold with? And what about that shiney throttlebody?
Looks awsome. When do you think you're gonna crank it up?
Also, if you post your pics vertically, instead of horizontally, it's much easier toscroll down and look at.
I hope you keep us posted on your progress.

well the powdercoating was done by a shop called ill garage you should check them out on line. i coated the trottle body with a chrome heat resistant enamel....i havent cranked it up yet because i havent sent out the wire harnesses yet but im dieing to do it well thank you for the compliments i mos def keep you guys posted on the progress.
Dude that is amazing, did you pull the old engine out from the top or did you drop it? I am about to take mine out for a rebuild but unsure if pulling it out or dropping it would be the easiest.
If you go from the top, you will have to pull motor and trans as 1 peice.
You can pull just the engine thru the bottom, but I would recommmend pulling both engine and tranny together. I removed the oil pan and intake manifold so I wouldn't have to jack the car so high.
I used a transmission jack.

Bro it came put like butter through the bottom there to much to worry about breaking from up top like rear windshield, any sensors etc .. try the bottom basically your just focusing on the cross member/ sub frame , and rotors and links thats it plus the mounts but that the last thing you would be taking off!

Well I am taking it out as once piece anyways, I am thinking of dropping the engine but was wondering which would be easier to do. My car is leaking oil and a bit of transmission fluid. Also the crank pulley broke so this is the reason why im dropping the engine. The only thing I have to really do now is undo the frame bolts, wiring plugs and any other connecting hoses.
you could still bring it out in one piece when taking it out from the bottom .when you look under your 2 examine all the bolts and really look at how everything is bolted down take pics so you can see how it all goes back thats what i did with my v6 itll be alot of pics but believe me it work a hell of alot better then trying to guess where a bolt or nut goes .
PS your in japan ? how are the jdm parts selection ? can you get your hands on good stuff im planning to take a trip this upcoming year to nagoya to the autobacs woot circuit jdm part heaven from what ive heard
I was in Japan, I just moved back to the states a few months ago and havent gotten around to changing that. The part selection is amazing over in Okinawa where I was stationed, there was at least 3 or 4 MKII MR2s in the junk yard to ravage parts from, my previous mr2, went through a few body kits because of my drift weekends with the guys and i spent quite a bit on tires as well...which at the junk yard they sell em right off the old cars so I didnt need to use my road tires.
I may actually be getting my hands on a 4AGE 20V blacktop engine within the next few weeks if things go accordingly, the only thing I am worried about is the transmission if i could just use the one off my 5SFE and if it would fit in the bay. The guy told me that it would fit into a 92 MR2, which mine is a 91. Tho i know there is no significant change to the MR2's until 1996, I just would like to be safe and check rather than buy it and get screwed.
Or a 3SGTE but from an old camry...but again uncertain of how it would fit into my mr2, and it comes with an awd transmission.
thats awesome it sounds like you were out there for quiet some time its it hard to communicate/live/get around out there i really am considering stay out there for some time but those my worries ...and are parts expensive out there ? sorry for so many q's but i wantto be prepard as much as possible, whats the money conversion USD TO JPY YEN !
I was told it should fit in an mr2 as well i was thinking the same thing before i went v6 ! and i didnt know there was an AWD camry .... can you get your hands on any parts ? you should let me know ill be will to get a few things
