1992 Mr2 Turbo - Iceland - loads of images

i bought the car back in 2005 when i was 15 lol, got it for cheap as it had driven on horse and looked bad, but me and dad fixed it, we are both body mechanics, work with dented cars every day

anyway

the car came to my like this after a crash with a horse:

i was a little exited when he came to my garage, so one shaky pic for u guys


Then me and Dad went into repairing

stage one : top into right position


stage two : fix the holes on the top (we pulled them up so its not just filler)


stage three was all the body








Then we went into the painting section







then the car was painted with primer ? or sum (dont know the english word)




then he came to my garage after painting





after that came the big puzzle




the windows came tinted from my friend, he owns a tint company





the rims




now last january the engine said goodbye with loss of 8 bars in compression on 2 cylinders so i went into tuning, engine is built for 900whp, starting with only small 350whp

i also sanded down the fuel filling pipe and the rain guard in the engine cover, intake manifold and intercooler pipes are ready for paint so, i has to be ready before 17th june lols

little update, intake manifold ready and bolted on, timing belt goes on tonight and i picked up the lower timing belt cover also, hope i can make my engine pretty hawt in the end

i wanted the timing cover high shine black

painted the marks for the ignition in the same color as the car and valve cover and the right mark i painted white like it was before i painted it

ATS egr block off on

new injectors, 540cc red tops, need to move them to the old fuel rail and clean it up


installed wastegate and manifold, only need studs so i can make a t3 to t25 adapter for the gt28rs



test fitting the turbo



to much detail on stuff that will never be seen
fuel filter bracket, vacuum hardlines and manifold supports


upper timingbelt cover ready, yamaha fonts in same color as the car

prev owner had fun painting the coolant hoses and more so i sat down and rubbed them with m600(weak thinner) for about 2 hours

well it gets closer and closer everyday, and the wallet gets thinner and thinner lols
new sparkplugs , spark plug wires, and more





test fit this weekend for the turbo adapter and downpipe location, will be installed also this weekend, woohoo long work weekend ahead

engine bolted in, i gotta remove the engine mount on the driversside when the crossmember is in so i can blast it and paint it, better pics tomorrow


this is how i started this morning

all assembled except the cruise control, hoses and oil pressure sensor connection was only a quick fix to get it started

first startup, short but it started

bad idle valve, or it could be the power fc

engine bay nearly finished, needs awfull lot of cleaning now
need to fix shorten the oil line to the mechanical gauge, im running both, dont trust the electrical enough



gauges fully installed now i just need to put the radio back in

Next up is water 2 air cooler and axle cages + Clutch

got it from ebay, its a Omni power Gm sensor (aftermarket general motors)

used this picture and then i found the wiring diagram at www.mr2-tech.com

yeah this replaces the afm, cause i have the power fc standalone, it replaces the old pressure sensor, the sensor it self is at the wall between the trunk and engine bay where the stock sensor was

and im using the engine bay temp sensor that used to control the ic fan for a intake temp for the standalone

works with all standalones

but if you are thinking about if you can replace the afm with map sensor on stock ecu then its not possible

the gm map sensor (manifold air pressure sensor) sensor the airflow in the manifold and gives the standalone a 0-5v reading of that just as the afm gives the ecu signals before the turbo

if you unplug your afm your car wont idle or drive correctly, so if you dont want the afm you need to go standalone

Looks great! You have this build on mr2.com correct?

The only way to remove the AFM is to run a standalone EMS...Not a cheap mod, but it will get the most out of everymod you have and any future mods!

FWIW, it's much easier than it would seem to run a Honda ECU on the Mr2, then you can put in a Hondata for 1/4 the cost of a AEM EMS...
