i thought it only related to turbos...

why would they? they dont have wastegates, or anything like that....are you thinking bypass valve?

no, i wasnt thinking anything, i thought something was fishy about a BOV on a supercharger...

You still need something to let off excess pressure when you let off the throttle. Otherwise the throttle plate closes but the supercharger is still pumping out air. Lots of excess pressure between the throttlebody and the supercharger. Don't know what that would do exactly if you just let it build up in there.
