Question about A2XXX transmission gear ratios

I have a 91 MR2 with a blown auto tranny, and i dont want to go through the hassle of trying to 5spd swap the 2. I have a freshly rebuilt motor that is prime and ready to go. I was going to consider rebuilding my old transmission until the lowest quote i got was just shy under a grand.

So i went to my local junkyards and i found EVERY transmission except the A241E tranny that i need. I found a A241L, A243L, A244E, and plenty of A245E transmissions.

My question is this...
is there a big difference in the gear ratios between these transmissions?
i have yet been able to find a A241E transmission locally, and each one i do find has just as as many miles as mine did (just shy of 273k).

should i bother trying to put something else in, or should i just stick with trying to find another A241E tranny?

Hey, I moved your thread to the MR2 section. You are more apt to get an answer here, but I can't say we have any MR2 owners with an auto tranny here.
Personally, I would go with the S54 or E153 manual trans.
