I think its the alternator.....please help

ok, new problem for my mr2... the voltmeter is goin crazy and also im hearing a buzzing noise from my amp. I know the buzzing noise is from havin my wires too close together and causing interference. but the problem im having is that my battery isnt charging very much. if i turn the radio on my car starts dying and the battery starts draining like the alternator cant keep up and charge it. It looks like its weak and becoming bad, but wehn i turn everything off it works ok.

time for a new alternator or look up the thread in the sticky section on how to repair your own

I'd say that it's better to get a new one. More frustrations for you if you are going to fix it, because afterall, it's still old and broken.
