manual boost controller

would anyone recommend using a manual boost controller? a friend of mine offer to make one for me, but i'm a little hesitant because im not sure if it's safe or not. besides, i don't wont to be boosting over 14psi (i think stock boost is rated at 11psi). would 3psi difference make a significant change? would that be clost to another 15-20hp?

unless u want to spend over 500usd for an electronic boost controller...then u have no choice but to go with an manual one if u want to run higher boost....u will need to get a fuel cut defender if u want to run higher than 12 psi...the ct-26 should boost up to 16psi max....but it'll be wise to invest an upgraded IC if u want to run higher boost......

Dudes don't forget to tell the noobie to buy a damn boost gauge! And also much after 17 psi the CT-26 will hit 'thermal efficiency.'
