Question help 92 mr2 r&r engine

hi troops, so this is the deal.
between rock & hard spot.
the rock is poor buget, hard spot is son smoked #1 rod bearing in a freash (less then 10k) 5sfe 2.2,going to toss a crank in under the new parts and go with it.
want to know,,,,, does unit come out top or bottom? with or without trans?
(big chains, big hoist, and whatever it takes, up or down, babys comin out tonight!).
please help if you can

HOLY BAT S%*T, RATMAN, Ok, shifter cabels at motor mount, Ive had tough slip clips befor, but these are crazzzy, any thoughts?

it all depends on what you have for equipment. When i removed mine i did it with a lift so we just let it drop through the bottom. But you can lift the whole engine and trans with a engine hoist and chains. Although alot of people will also drop the whole engine/trans out the bottom by just jacking up the rear of the car and putting it on stands. But again its all up to you. But the engine and trans will come out together.

As far as the cables. Not really sure why you are having that big of an issue with them. Mine just came right out.

Thanks for your response,
so im going to drop both down, reset stands last night.
son wants to bearings in trans when its out (at least its not a auto)
got clips off, someone bent the ends of the clips .
so im off to see the wizard ,,,,
