I just picked up this 1991 MR Turbo. The problem that I am having is randomly not all time at a stoplight I will get white smoke / smells like oil not sure coming from my exhaust. It only randomly happens not all the time. The car has lots of power and never smokes at all under acceleration no matter how hard I have pushed the motor. I was told it cold be the turbo going but checking to see what your opinion is. Any help is appreciated.

Probably not the turbo oil seal, as it would smoke even heavier under acceleration.
Check the PCV hose, it's connections and the ports where it exits the valve cover and enters the throttle body. If the hose is leaking or cracked, or either of those ports are clogged, you will get blow by and white smoke at idle.
