Theres not much out there for the N/A, engine wise. A cold air intake, header, catback exhaust, aftermarket rims and maybe some adjustable racing struts.
Everything else will be very expensive to modify.

congrats on the 94. Those later years are much harder to find. Like he said those 5s motors were not built for performance. They are a great engine, but there isnt much you can do with bolt ons to add alot of HP short of building the motor for a turbo which gets into big money. I would say do some small stuff like he said just to add alittle extra look to the engine bay. But as far as these cars are concerned suspension is the really fun things to upgrade. They are already really good handling cars but you add some lowering springs and some good adjustable struts and youll see a big difference in the handling which makes them really fun to whip around corners in

Since you are in California I will assume you can't do some of the more common engine mods that others do like headers or after market exhaust. You can however adapt a stock MR2 Turbo exhaust to your NA that will be better flowing, a little louder and still look stock. Also you could get some Webcam 294 cam grinds and up your top end. Those 2 mods by themselves will give you about 15rwhp and put you at 125rwhp or a little over 150 at the crank. If you could add a header to that you would gain 5-10 more hp.

As others have suggested suspension mods and wider rims and tires are a great way to make your car faster in the corners.
